Fort Worth and Tarrant County
Fort Worth runs on freight and airplanes. We TIG weld aluminum trailers and truck parts, build tooling and fixtures for aerospace suppliers, and repair equipment around the rail yards and the Alliance corridor. Parts that can travel come to the shop. The rest get a mobile rig.

What we do in Fort Worth
01
The machine shops and subcontractors around west Fort Worth, Arlington and Grand Prairie need tooling, fixtures, carts and ground support equipment, mostly in aluminum and 4130. Flight hardware is a different matter. It usually needs a supplier on the prime's approved list, so check what your purchase order requires.
02
Fort Worth is a rail town, with yards on the north side and intermodal traffic up at Alliance. We repair aluminum and stainless components, fabricate brackets and guards, and fix cracked parts on maintenance equipment. Track-side work follows the railroad's own safety and escort rules.
03
I-35W, I-20 and I-30 carry a lot of trucks through here. We weld aluminum fuel tanks, toolboxes, headache racks, dump bodies and trailer frames, and fix cracked crossmembers. Trailers can come to the shop, or we can work in your yard.
04
Out toward Keller, Weatherford and Texas Motor Speedway, owners bring us chromoly roll cages, aluminum intercooler piping, stainless exhaust and cracked hitches. We back purge stainless exhaust so the inside of the joint doesn't sugar and crack a few heat cycles later.

Most of what the aerospace supply chain asks of a local welder isn't flight hardware. It's weld fixtures, assembly carts, engine stands, test rigs and tooling plates, built as custom metal fabrication in 6061 aluminum or 4130 chromoly. Those parts still have to come out square and flat. On aluminum that means tacking in a sequence that balances the shrink and checking distortion before the last welds go in.
When a job does call for AWS D17.1 or a customer weld spec, send the spec, the drawing revision and the inspection requirements with the request. We'll tell you plainly whether it fits our work or belongs with a source on your prime's approved list.
Aluminum is a big share of the work on this side of the Metroplex. Trailers and truck bodies are mostly 5052 sheet and 6061 extrusion. We weld them with 5356 filler for strength and a better color match, or 4043 where a joint is prone to hot cracking. Cracks around crossmembers, hinges and spring hangers come back unless the cause gets fixed, so we look at how the part flexes before grinding anything out.
Yard work is common at Alliance and along I-20, where a trailer can't easily leave. Weld repair in place needs a clear area, a tank that's been cleaned and vented if it ever held fuel, the battery disconnected, and the ground clamp right next to the weld so current doesn't run through bearings or electronics.

Tarrant County is spread out, but the roads are kinder than Houston's. Loop 820 gets you around the city, and SH 114 and SH 121 run up toward Grapevine and DFW Airport. Keller to Arlington is about 25 miles. Alliance to Burleson is closer to 35. Travel is quoted by distance, and a Fort Worth job can sometimes share a trip with one in Dallas.
For work that can't come off the line or out of the yard, mobile TIG welding brings an AC/DC inverter, argon and the right filler to you.
FAQ
Not covered here?
Call or text (346) 561-0862. A photo of the part usually answers half the questions.
Can you weld an aluminum trailer in Fort Worth?
Yes. Most aluminum trailers are 5052 and 6061, and we TIG weld them with 5356 or 4043 depending on the joint. Cracked crossmembers, broken ramp hinges and torn fender mounts are common. We can work in your yard or at the shop. Send photos and the trailer make so we can plan reinforcement if it's needed.
Who TIG welds chromoly roll cages near Fort Worth?
We do. We TIG weld 4130 chromoly cages, bars and chassis tubes. Fit-up matters more than anything: tight copes, clean metal and no gaps to bridge. Sanctioning bodies set their own rules on material, wall thickness and who may weld, so check your rulebook and tell us which class the car runs.
Can you weld for aerospace suppliers in Fort Worth?
We build tooling, fixtures, carts and ground support equipment in aluminum, stainless and chromoly. For parts that call for AWS D17.1 or a customer weld spec, send the spec and drawing and we'll plan the procedure around it. Flight hardware often requires an approved source, so check your purchase order first.
Can a cracked aluminum fuel tank be welded?
Often, yes, but only after it's made safe. A tank that held diesel or gasoline has to be drained, cleaned and vented or purged before anyone strikes an arc. Then we grind out the crack, weld it with 5356 or 4043 and leak test it. Tanks that crack from vibration usually need better mounting too.
Do you serve Arlington, Keller and Grapevine?
Yes. We work across Tarrant County, including Arlington, Keller, Grapevine, Haltom City, North Richland Hills, Burleson and the Alliance area. On-site work is quoted with travel by distance. Call (346) 561-0862 or request a quote with photos and dimensions.
